Getting to Ngā Manu

Ngā Manu is located in Waikanae on the Kāpiti Coast. We are easy to find – just follow the big signs on State Highway 1. We are approximately 50 minutes drive north of Wellington or approximately 70 minutes drive south of Palmerston North.

Cycle to Nga Manu


The new Kāpiti Cycleway adjacent to State Highway 1, provides a safe and easy cycle route from any of the towns along the Kāpiti Coast. Bus and rail services connect with Waikanae, but there is currently no direct public transport link to Ngā Manu.

Book a taxi to take you from the Waikanae Station to Ngā Manu:

Paraparaumu Taxis can transport up to 11 people.

Kapiti Coast Shuttles can transport up to 18 people.

The 280 Metlink bus service runs from Waikanae Station to the Waikanae Outdoor Pool and then it is a 30 minute walk from the pool to Ngā Manu:
