Ngā Manu Nature Images is a long-running project to develop a pictorial record of the ecology of Ngā Manu Nature Reserve, recording plants and wildlife and the way they interact.
A small sample of these images, along with others taken elsewhere, is presented on Flickr for you to enjoy and use in personal projects. This gallery of images is in the process of being updated so please follow us on Flickr to see new images as they are added to the collections.

The Image Library
There are around 100,000 images in the evolving Ngā Manu Nature Images database. Older images are based on 35mm film and larger transparencies; the more recent images are all taken as raw digital files.
Included in the database are several photo sets that contain a large amount of data on particular subjects which may be of value to researchers. At present there are several sets containing comprehensive data on nesting wood pigeon, fantail and tūī. There are also smaller sets with data on feeding activity on fruiting kohekohe, kiekie and poroporo plants, and the scavenging activity of a number of animals, mainly weasel, possum and ship rats.
For more information on Ngā Manu Nature Images, use of images or photo sets, please contact us. The image library is managed by voluntary help, so responses, in some circumstances, may take some time. We will however endeavour to reply to you as quickly as possible.
