Eel feeding

The wetlands of Ngā Manu are home to both short-fin eels and endangered long-fin eels (tuna). They are fed daily and have grown accustomed to gathering en-masse in a pond where you can get a close look or even help feed them.
Join staff at the eel feeding pond for the free talk, an informative insight into the world of these unique animals and their fight for survival.

Time: 2pm daily
Duration: About 15 minutes
Group eel feeds at other times by appointment.

Free to view at the 2pm public talk
Purchase an eel feeding token – $2 to pole-feed an eel
Group eel feeds – $50 for up to 50 people and then $1 per additional person
